Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you have a consultation fee?
All of our designs are custom. We have a consultation fee due to the amount of hours involved in meeting with potential clients, creating the perfect, personalized proposal and answering any and all questions that may arise. We want to pour our hearts into each design and we’ve found that by charging a small fee we are able to give more energy to clients who are serious about working with us. When you book us, the $50 fee is applied to your overall cost. If you decide to use someone else, the fee pays us for our time and creative energy.
2. What’s the best way to show you what I like?
Most of our brides invite us to their wedding or flower inspiration Pinterest page. Please narrow down your pins so that we can get a better idea of what you truly love. Emailing us your favorite images is a great way to share your vision too.
3. I’m not very knowledgeable about flowers. Do I need to know the names of what I like?
No! That’s our job. If you can point to a picture and tell us why you love it or what you dislike about it, we can compile your preferences to design a look that you absolutely love.
4. What if I’m not sure exactly what I want for flowers?
That’s okay! As long as you have a general idea of colors, we can assist you in thinking through styles, overall feel, and selecting specific blooms you love. Take a little time to scroll through our Instagram to have an idea of things you may like or dislike so that our consultation time can be productive and our custom proposal speak to your desires.
5. How do the vases/vessels work? Can I use my own stuff?
Gathered has most styles of vases that you could want. We will discuss what type of vessels you envision during your consultation. It streamlines the design and clean up process if most of the items used belong to Gathered. Some of our brides want to source their own unique vessels and we love getting to help you personalize your special day. We will talk about sizes and dimension and then we collect those personal items at least 2 weeks prior to the wedding.
6. How does the pricing work?
In your proposal, you will get a break down of the costs of personal flowers, ceremony flowers, reception flowers and the delivery + set up costs.
7. When are the payments due? And how do I pay?
We require a 30% deposit to be paid upon booking. The final balance is due one month prior to the wedding. Any additional items added after the initial contract will be invoiced as they are added. Gathered will send you an invoice for each payment and you can pay by check, bank transfer or credit card.
8. Do you stay during the wedding?
We typically arrive to set up and install all floral items prior to the ceremony and then leave. We return to clean up and tear down after the reception. If you want Gathered to stay during the event and assist with a room flip or moving certain items from ceremony to reception, there is an additional labor fee associated.
9. My aunt/cousin/neighbor does flowers too. Can they make some arrangements?
Unfortunately, no. We state that only Gathered is able to provide any floral items for your wedding in the contract. We do this to preserve the overall aesthetic of the design and to ensure that all the pictures of your wedding are flawless. We've found that adding work from other artists takes away from the vision and concept that we work so hard with our clients to perfect.
